MidWest Championship Race Format
All racing classes will follow the same race procedure.
Entries
will be placed in qualifying heats by the order entered/passed through technical
inspection.
The
first four entered will be in qualifying heat 'A', the next four will be in
qualifying heat 'B' etc.
The
qualifying heats will be one minute per lane, with one minute between lane
changes and a one minute warmup prior to the start of the race.
Based
upon the overall finishing position in the qualifying heats, racers will be
seeded into the Main heats.
The
overall top four lap totals will be in the 'A' Main, the next four lap totals
will be in the 'B' Main, etc.
The
Mains will be run from the bottom up so the 'A' Main will be the last race to be
run.
The
Main races will be 5 minutes per lane, with two minutes between lane changes and
a two ninute warmup prior to the start of the Main.
Final
class postion will be determined by overall lap totals. The entrant with the
most laps is first, the one with the next highest lap
total
is
second, etc.
Tracks
will be shutdown 30 minutes prior to the start time for that class/track for
final track cleaning/prep. After the final track cleaning/prep is
completed,
practice
will be allowed in 1 minute intervals for racers to check out the final track
conditions as they will be going into the qualifying and
racing.
Entry
and technical inspection will be open 30 minutes before scheduled race start
time.
Tracks will be shutdown 10 minutes before the scheduled race start, to get everyone through entry/tech.
Points System
The points will simply be assigned based upon final finishing position in each class. One point for first, two points for second, three points for third, etc. The overall champion (and $500 recipient!) will be determined by adding together their three best finishes. The lowest total number of points is the champion. For example, the best possible score will be a ‘3’ for someone winning three classes.
In the case of a tie, points will be determined from the qualifying heats and used to break the tie.
